Model UN

Created by Matthew 2 years ago

I was lucky enough to have been a student of Julian's at Sandown High School from 1999-2001. He introduced Model UN to our school and gave me opportunities to represent the school at conferences in Sweden and Morocco. He also used the international links he had forged to help me get a job in China teaching English. It was there that I met my wife, Jian, and we now have 3 children. Without Julian's positive influence on me as a young man back in the day my life could have turned out much differently. I am lucky to have had the priviledge of his wisdom, care and enthusiasm for global citizenship and adventure. I am a teacher myself now and am currently preparing to launch our Model UN conference in a few weeks time. It was this that made me think of Julian and I wanted to try and catch up with him after so many years. I am so sad to hear that he passed away but thankful for his influence upon my life and countless others. I will be dedicating my opening speech at our MUN to him and hope that in that way he continues to inspire the younger generation.
